About Bunk & Bedtime
A small publisher that reads specifications carefully and links its sources. That is the whole proposition, and the rest of this page explains what it does and does not mean.
Who we are
Bunk & Bedtime is published by Janet Media Group. The site is written by Janet H., the hands-on owner behind janet media group.
We cover one narrow thing: the beds, bunks, bedding, desks and storage that go into a child’s bedroom, organized around the age-and-safety progression a family actually moves through — crib to toddler bed, to the bottom bunk, to the top bunk, to a loft.
What we do
For every bed we cover, we publish four numbers in the same place, in the same format, on every page: the guardrail height above the mattress, the stated weight limit per bunk, the manufacturer’s minimum age, and the mattress-thickness ceiling those figures imply.
We check those numbers against the rules that actually govern children’s beds in the United States — the federal standard for children’s bunk beds (16 CFR Part 1513), the ASTM F1427 requirements it draws on, and the American Academy of Pediatrics’ guidance on upper-bunk age — and we link both so you can check us in about thirty seconds.
Where a manufacturer publishes no number, we write “not published by the manufacturer” rather than guess. That happens more often than it should, and the absence is itself worth knowing.
What we do not do
We do not run a testing lab. We do not buy, assemble or sleep in the beds we write about, and we will not pretend otherwise. Sites that run real test facilities can write “in our testing”; we cannot, so we do not.
We hold no professional credentials in this field. No certification, no medical review board, no expert panel. If you see any of those claimed anywhere on this site, it is an error and we would like to hear about it.
We do not publish reviews or ratings from customers. There is no testimonials section on this site, because we have no real reviews to put in one. A clean page beats a fabricated one.
We do not publish prices we have not verified, and we publish no deals, discounts or price predictions in any season. Every buy link goes to the live listing.
What we currently cover

How we are funded
Through affiliate commission. When you buy through a link on this site we earn a commission from the retailer at no additional cost to you. It never changes an ordering — if the cheaper bed is the safer bed, that is the one at the top of the page. Corrections
If a spec on this site is wrong, tell us and we will check it against the manufacturer’s listing and correct the page. On a site whose entire proposition is published numbers, a wrong number is the worst thing we can ship, and we would much rather hear about it than not.
